Ka‘ana Mele Hawai‘i, means sharing music. Come share an unforgettable evening of music with the Brown ‘Ohana and Kalani Miles.
Traditional slack key guitarist and Hawaiian vocalist Kevin Brown is one of Hawaiʻi’s finest musicians and instructors, his easy-going style has deeply influenced a generation of musicians both in Hawaiʻi and on the mainland. Kevin Brown sings and teaches Hawaiian songs with the true feeling of aloha.
Though Kevin, who lives in his country home town of Waiehu, Maui, and (son) Ikaika, who now resides on the “9th Island of Las Vegas,” are separated by the Pacific Ocean, slack key traditions are kept alive and well.
Ikaika started playing slack key at the age of 9. He is known for his timeless song, Kalo Man, which he wrote as a school project in middle school. Kevin and Ikaika have been playing as a father son duo ever since. Ikaika has recorded on countless projects for other musicians and also released 2 other albums after Kalo Man. Kevin and Ikaika also contributed to Grammy Winning Slack Key album.
Kalani Miles, a singer, song writer and producer on the island of Maui. His Hoku award was for his Solo Album, He Mele no Papa, which was a tribute album to his father, the late Mitchell Miles Sr. Kalani is passionate about music and has since recorded his 3rd solo album, Aloha Everywhere, which he released last December. You may also be familiar with Kalani with the group Hoaka. Hoaka released 8 various albums/Singles and received multiple Na Hoku Nominations.
Kevin, Ikaika, & Kalani have always been about the love of music and connecting to people through their music.
