About the Workshop
Expand your artistic toolkit and explore your creativity in a supportive environment! This puppetry workshop is great for both beginners and puppetry pros. Participants will learn the best techniques and secrets from master puppeteer, Stephie Garrett. We will explore the fundamentals of puppetry and gain hands-on experience working with hand puppets (made famous by The Muppets and Sesame Street).
About Stephie
On Maui, Stephie was the Puppetry Director for Avenue Q (ProArts Playhouse), Evil Dead the Musical (Roseox Productions), and She Kills Monsters (Maui OnStage). She has been trained in Hand-in-Mouth, Shadow, Backpack, Czech Black, Rod, Marionette, and Blacklight puppetry. Her highlighted puppetry credits include: Madcap Puppet Productions, TFLP Enterprises (featured on America’s Got Talent), Kathy Burks Theatre of Puppetry Arts, and the national tours of VeggieTales Live and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer the Musical. Stephie is a puppetry consultant for various productions through StageWorthy Arts and is delighted to share her love of puppetry with the Maui community!
