About the Show
On Saturday, December 7th, hapa-Samoan artist and Honolulu resident Taimane makes her ProArts Playhouse debut performing a salute to the season with her band.
Join us for an unforgettable holiday show unlike any other with Taimane lighting up the stage with her fiery, mashup medleys, soul-stirring original compositions and heartwarming holiday favorites presented in her unique, signature style.
A four-time Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award winner, Taimane has taken the ‘ukulele to places never previously seen or even envisioned. With her recordings, she has broken down musical barriers using the four-string island staple to summon a full palette of emotions from songs ranging from classical to classic rock, flamenco infernos to tribal hymns. In addition, Taimane incorporates elements of dance, theater and cultural storytelling into her live performances keeping audiences’ rapt attention and perched on the edge of their seats from start to finish.
It’s Hawaii’s Favorite Entertainer of the Year in 2023 and 2019 and a global torchbearer of Hawai’i and Polynesian culture making her debut at Hawaii’s most intimate and exhilarating theater, all during the most wonderful time of the year. Difficult for us to contain our excitement!
