Flanagan is known for his guitar and songwriting skills\, vocal performances and ocean awareness projects. In 1980\, Flanagan moved to Hawaii to research and study the art of Kiho ‘Alu\, or Slack Key Guitar and Haku Mele composition. It was after hearing the music of American musician and film score composer Ry Cooder with legendary Slack Key master Gabby Pahinui that inspired Flanagan’s sojourn in Hawai’i to explore and learn these two art forms. Flanagan immersed himself in Hawaiian culture and art\, seeking out native speakers\, teachers and composers of Hawaiian songs\, passionately studying indigenous art forms with Maui as the backdrop. In 1983 Flanagan founded a musical duo on Maui\, naming it “HAPA\,” the Hawaiian word meaning “half” and also used to describe people of mixed Pacific Island ancestry. During the next 10 years\, to 1993\, Flanagan raised $125\,000 to write and produce what was described as “…a first-class recording that would change the way people out of the state of Hawai’i perceive Hawaiian Music.” (Lahaina News).\nABOUT ANTHONY:Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award-nominated artist Anthony Pfluke is one to watch.\nBorn and raised on Maui\, Anthony has been rooted in Hawaiian music from an early age\, forging an original path that honors and perpetuates the music and culture of his home. Born in the Mojave desert and cured in west LA\, she then found herself paddling across the pacific ocean on a surfboard looking for waves. She landed on Maui\, and discovered a wellspring of healing: sitting in her jungle yard writing solo songs on guitar. Her songs are articulate as well as dreamlike\, weaving seamlessly between vivid grounding imagery and illuminated questioning that hits straight to the core. Her voice carries the kind of vintage vibrato power you’d find on a dusty old country record\, and also a tender softness that leaves you with a feeling of ease.\nThis will be an evening of special sorts\, as Nicole will have her band\, as well as dear friend and songwriter Desirae Garcia opening up the show!\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Ticket Information\nPremium Seating:\n$30 Premium (large cushy front-row chairs with small tables)\nPreferred Seating:\n$25 Preferred (front row of any seating tier)\nRegular Seating:\n$20\nPartially-Obstructed View Seats:\n$15\nFor information on our Access for All initiative\, click HERE\n \n BUY TICKETS\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n [events-calendar-search placeholder="Search Events" show-events="5" disable-past-events="false" layout="medium" content-type="advance"]\n \n BACK TO UPCOMING

SUMMARY:Henri Herbert - Boogie and Blues Piano Show
DESCRIPTION:Henri Herbert – Boogie and Blues Piano Show\n \n \n \n \n \n Saturday\, May 10\, 2025Starts at 7:30pmRun time: 75 minutes with no intermission\n \n BUY TICKETS\n \n \n \n \n \n Presented by ProArts Playhouse and Mana’o Radio\nAfter his sensational Hawaii debut in 2021\, boogie piano master Henri Herbert takes the stage at ProArts Playhouse for one night only!\nWith over 100 million video views and concerts from Lithuania to Japan\, Henri Herbert is one of the most sought-after boogie and blues pianists in the world. This is a rare opportunity to witness the music that birthed rock n’ roll and inspired so many of today’s rock legends. In concert\, Henri Herbert makes clear that this rollicking sound remains as electrifying today as it did 100 years ago when boogie and blues began its takeover of barrooms and juke joints across America. Described by The New Yorker as “a blazing young pianist” and by the London Evening Standard as “possessed by Jerry Lee Lewis and The Devil”\, Herbert’s visceral solo show is an exhilarating experience for all.\nOriginally from the UK\, Henri is now a permanent resident of the USA. He lives in Nashville and his green card was awarded based on his skill a one of the best blues and boogie pianists in the world. In 2021 he performed a special show for The Royal Family of Monaco and has also accompanied rock legend Bryan Adams\, and blues legend Kim Wilson. This show is the mid-point of a busy touring year for Henri\, after which he moves on to Japan and Australia.\n \n \n \n \n \n Follow on Social Media! \nINSTAGRAM – @henri_herbert_pianoFACEBOOK – www.facebook.com/henri.herbert YOUTUBE – www.youtube.com/henriherbert88 TWITTER – www.twitter.com/henriherbert\nHenri is officially endorsed by Roland Pianos.\nPhoto Credit: Sean Murphy\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Ticket Pricing\nPremium:\n$40 Extra large and comfy front row seats from A1 to A6 with side tables\nPreferred:\n$35 Best-view seating in either the front row (seats A7 to A15) OR the front row of any elevated section\nRegular:\n$30\nSlightly-Obstructed View:\n$25\nFor information on our Access for All initiative\, click HERE\n \n BUY TICKETS\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n [events-calendar-search placeholder="Search Events" show-events="5" disable-past-events="false" layout="medium" content-type="advance"]\n \n BACK TO UPCOMING

SUMMARY:Tye Austin
DESCRIPTION:Tye Austin\n \n \n \n \n \n Friday\, May 9\, 2025Starts at 7:30pmRun time: 115 minutes with no intermission\n \n BUY TICKETS\n \n \n \n \n \n Presented by ProArts Playhouse and Mana’o Radio\nHailed by NBC News for making “…the guitar sing like it was invented only to be in his hands\,” Tye Austin is an American virtuoso guitarist and composer dedicated to making classical and jazz music more accessible to mainstream audiences of all ages and nationalities. He has performed solo at NYC’s Carnegie Hall\, London’s Royal Albert Hall\, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival\, and many other prestigious venues around the world. In 2017\, he performed for over 300 world leaders during an event to eradicate global poverty hosted at the United Nations Headquarters in Manhattan\, NY. The following year\, he was invited to perform for the former Australian Prime Minister in the penthouse suite on the 72nd floor of the Trump World Tower located on the UN Plaza. In 2019\, Tye moved to Shanghai\, China for a music performance and education residency at the iSchool of Music. He was subsequently hired as the principal classical guitarist for Royal Caribbean International Cruise Lines in 2020.\nAs an homage to his Franco-Spanish ancestry\, Tye specializes in guitar music from Spain\, France\, and the Americas. He performs a wide variety of musical genres from classical to flamenco\, fado\, samba\, bossa nova\, tango\, choro\, jazz\, reggae\, modern pop\, and more. He also sings in English\, Spanish\, French\, and Portuguese. In addition to his solo guitar work\, he frequently collaborates with symphonic orchestras\, string quartets\, chamber music groups\, and jazz ensembles across the US. He has performed popular guitar concerti with the New York Virtuosi String Orchestra\, the Siskiyou String Orchestra\, and the Oregon Center for the Arts Symphonic Orchestra.\nAs a prodigious composer with several commissions to his name\, Tye is dedicated to expanding the classical guitar repertoire. He has composed liturgical music for churches\, secular music for recording artists\, and commercial music for television. In 2017\, Tye was commissioned to arrange and perform French renaissance music for the premiere of the Netflix original series\, “Versailles\,” hosted at the United States French Embassy. In 2019\, he was asked to be featured in Classical Guitar Magazine’s top 10 guitarists & composers in the world. As a prolific singer-songwriter\, he has written over 100 songs about nature\, culture\, and the human condition. The final aim of his music is to glorify God and refresh the human soul.\nTye bought his first guitar at a pawn shop after attending a Spanish guitar concert for the first time in 2007. “I will never forget that magical night. I witnessed one guitar being played like four guitars simultaneously. An epiphany washed over me and suddenly I knew exactly what I wanted to do with my life. I had found my passion\, my purpose\, and my best friend\,” says Tye. Born in the Rogue Valley of Southern Oregon\, Tye’s ancestors were notorious pirates of the Caribbean who migrated to the new world from Orduna\, Spain and Bordeaux\, France near the turn of 19th century. As a self-proclaimed antihero of classical music\, he is determined to belay antiquated social hierarchies and seize his musical destiny by the throat.\nTye graduated summa cum laude with his bachelor of arts degree in classical guitar performance and music composition from the Oregon Center for the Arts at Southern Oregon University (OCASOU) in 2013. He was subsequently awarded a full-ride scholarship to pursue his master of music degree in classical guitar performance at the New England Conservatory (NEC) in Boston\, MA in 2014. He graduated from NEC with the highest of honors under the tutelage of legendary maestro and pedagogue\, Eliot Fisk in the spring of 2016. Tye was selected to study in private masterclasses with Grammy Award-winner\, Sharon Isbin\, chair of classical guitar studies at The Juilliard School in NYC. He also spent a summer abroad to study flamenco and classical guitar performance with David Martinez\, chair of guitar studies at the Royal Academy of Music in Granada\, Spain.\nTye’s debut album\, Andalusia: Spanish Guitar Music\, will be released in the summer of 2025 as an homage to his solo journey across Spain. In addition to his musical activities\, he is also an avid outdoorsman\, mushroom forager\, archer\, angler\, and extreme sports athlete.\nIf you’d like to contact Tye Austin for any reason\, please email info@tyeaustin.com\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Ticket Pricing\nPremium:\n$60 Extra large and comfy front row seats from A1 to A6 with side tables\nPreferred:\n$55 Best-view seating in either the front row (seats A7 to A15) OR the front row of any elevated section\nRegular:\n$50\nSlightly-Obstructed View:\n$45\nKama`aina discount available!\nFor information on our Access for All initiative\, click HERE\n \n BUY TICKETS\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n [events-calendar-search placeholder="Search Events" show-events="5" disable-past-events="false" layout="medium" content-type="advance"]\n \n BACK TO UPCOMING
