Join us for a special encore screening of Hui Mo‘olelo: Lāhainā — a beloved collection of animated short films that honor Lāhainā’s history\, culture\, and enduring sense of place.\nPremiered in February 2025\, these films emerged from the Hui Mo‘olelo: Lāhainā storytelling program — a partnership among the County of Maui\, Hale Hōʻikeʻike at the Bailey House / Maui Historical Society\, Maui Public Art Corps\, and the Lahaina Restoration Foundation. Led by Kalapana Kollars and Anuhea Yagi\, the program paired intergenerational storytellers to record personal memories rooted in Lāhainā. The Quinault Indian Nation (QIN) consists of descendants of the Quinault\, Queets\, Quileute\, Hoh\, Chehalis\, Chinook\, and Cowlitz people.\nTo this day\, we fish\, hunt and gather from the same lands as our ancestors. Through millenia\, plants have provided food\, medicine\, materials\, and spiritual sustenance for our people. The western red cedar\, the tree of life\, provided logs for canoes\, bark for clothing\, split boards for houses\, and more.
