DESCRIPTION:“Lovey Lee” Special Pride Month Screening\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Thursday\, July 10\, 2025At 7:30pmRun time: 90 minutes with NO intermission\n			\n				BUY TICKETS\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Presented by ProArts Playhouse and Maui OnStage\n**A Special 2025 Pride Month Screening of the 2024 performance of the live play\nBased on the true story of one Honolulu Hotel Street prostitute’s harrowing journey chronicles the highs and lows of 1970s life on the outside of convention\, as written with biting\, beautiful honesty by Maui’s own Moses Goods\, of NCIS: Hawaii and Jason Momoa’s upcoming Chief of War.\nHawai‘i in the 1970s.  A time of reclamation\, discovery and pride.  For Lovey Lee\, a young queer Hawaiian\, the 70s is about finding a place where they can just be.  With Hawaiʻi’s cultural renaissance at its peak and with the sexual liberation movement booming throughout the nation\, there is perhaps no better time to explore life\, identity and freedom.  But the journey of any brave pioneer is often complicated and fraught with challenges.  In this coming of age story\, Lovey finds themself journeying from their safe island home to the invigorating streets of San Francisco to the dark alleys of Hotel Street and back again in their search for place.\nCONTENT WARNING: The nature of the story means that this is not a family show. It deals with sensitive and mature themes\, explicit language\, and references to racism\, sexual assault\, homophobia\, transphobia\, and scenes of an adult nature. It may not be suitable for all audiences\, especially those who are triggered or uncomfortable with discussions of mental health\, identity struggles\, and discrimination.
